Our Remit
Home Republic was commissioned to renovate and extend a period property in Richmond, aiming to seamlessly blend modern design with the Victorian aesthetic of the home. The client desired a spacious rear extension that would serve as a central hub for family life, as well as a luxurious update to the existing bathrooms and bedrooms.
What We Did
We constructed a generous rear extension that significantly increased the living space, incorporating large windows and doors to maximize natural light and provide a seamless transition to the garden. Exposed steel beams and brick slips were integrated into the design to add character and maintain the Victorian style of the property.
Bespoke Kitchen: A bespoke kitchen was designed and installed, featuring custom cabinetry in a deep blue hue, complemented by elegant brass hardware and a sleek marble countertop. High-end appliances and a spacious island were incorporated to enhance functionality and create a focal point for culinary activities.
Luxurious Bathrooms & Bedrooms: The existing bathrooms and bedrooms were transformed into luxurious retreats, boasting high-quality fixtures, finishes, and custom-made storage solutions. Thoughtful design elements, such as underfloor heating and rain showers, were added to enhance comfort and relaxation.
Period Details: Throughout the renovation, we took care to preserve and restore original period features, such as mouldings, fireplaces, and stained-glass windows, ensuring that the home’s unique character was not compromised.
The Result
The result is a stunningly renovated period property that harmoniously blends Victorian charm with modern elegance. The rear extension provides a spacious and inviting living space, while the bespoke kitchen and luxurious bathrooms and bedrooms offer a refined and comfortable living experience. By incorporating exposed steel beams, brick slips, and other carefully chosen design elements, we have successfully maintained the home’s original character while introducing contemporary touches that cater to modern living.
