Our Remit
Home Republic Ltd, with our growing expertise in design and build, embarked on a complete transformation of this cherished community centre in Hendon. By retaining the original façade and side walls, we created a welcoming, modern space filled with light and flexibility.
Respectful communication was at the heart of this project’s success. Recognizing the centre’s importance to the community, our team fostered a mindful approach throughout the entire build.
What We Did
Over 80 steel beams were used to create an open-plan layout, adaptable to the centre’s diverse needs. Moveable partitions on the first floor offer the flexibility of a large hall or eight individual classrooms, while the ground floor boasts a professional events hall equipped with cutting-edge smart stage and AV technology. The raised front garden provides additional event space, and a newly built kitchen caters to gatherings of up to 300 people.
The Result
This project was honoured with the London Master Builders Award 2023 in the category «Best Commercial and Public Sector Project.» The judges recognized our team’s innovative use of technology, including specialized apps that streamlined communication and procurement, leading to the project’s completion four months ahead of schedule. We are immensely proud to have contributed to London’s vibrant community life, and to have received recognition from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for our work on this important project.
