Our Remit
Our clients desired a bright, open-plan kitchen and dining space that would be the heart of their home. As part of a comprehensive rear extension and internal remodelling project, they sought a contemporary and stylish space that was both functional and inviting, while also maximizing natural light and maintaining the character of their period property.
What We Did
This comprehensive rear extension and internal remodelling project began by opening up the existing kitchen and dining space, removing a non-load-bearing wall to create a more spacious and airier feel. We then installed a large skylight to flood the space with natural light and create a dramatic focal point.
To enhance the sense of space, we opted for a light and airy colour palette with accents of black and brass — a signature Home Republic style. We installed a sleek, handleless kitchen with integrated appliances and a large island that provides ample workspace and seating. We also incorporated a custom-made dining table and bench to accommodate the family’s needs.
To maintain the character of the property, we retained the original brick wall and exposed ceiling beams. We also added a herringbone wood floor to add warmth and texture to the space.
The Result
The resulting space is a stunning example of modern kitchen design achieved through a successful rear extension and internal remodelling project. The open-plan layout and large skylight create a bright and airy atmosphere, while the carefully curated furnishings and decor create a stylish and inviting space. This project successfully embodies Home Republic’s commitment to accessible design, delivering a contemporary and functional kitchen that is both beautiful and practical.
