Working Safely During Covid-19

Covid-19

Business as ‘unusual’ – Home Republic Covid-19 Action Plan

At Home Republic, our focus, first and foremost, is the safety and well-being of our employees, customers and partners.

From the very beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have taken immediate action to protect the health and finances of our staff members, including the ongoing sanitisation of our office, our sites and storage/workshop facilities.

Across London, over 80% of our projects remain open during lockdowns, creating vital work places, upgrading and building essential residential homes and supporting local economies. All sites have adapted to abide by the Government backed Construction Leadership Council Site Operating Procedures. These procedures follow the latest scientific advice and direct safe social distancing practices across construction sites.

We have put in place a detailed action plan to minimise any risk from the virus.

  • Social distancing measures are being maintained throughout our sites.

  • Extra-space for welfare facilities, such as hiring additional units.

  • Hand sanitiser is available in site entrances exits, on office desks and in all company delivery vans and other vehicles.

  • Staggered breaks and lunch times, with clear signage for social distancing in canteens.

  • One-way systems for circulation, especially around bottleneck areas.

  • Strict control of visitors entering the premises.

  • Strict cleaning policy on all sites and in the office and increased schedule of sanitisation of all work areas/surfaces.

  • Toolbox-talks to communicate latest guidance and working practices; held in open areas, allowing for maintenance of the two-metre rule.

  • Remote working for our office-based employees where and when possible.

  • Constant updates are communicated via central software and daily team meetings are happening via zoom, WhatsApp or telephone.

  • Action plan reviews on a daily basis with regards to ongoing work and new site surveys to ensure the continued safety of our staff and customers.

  • Our dedicated Covid-19 QR Code is displayed on all our premises to be scanned with the NHS Covid-19 app for a safe check in.

Best practice and innovation to keep our sites open

The Covid-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for construction; however, despite this, our people and supply chain partners have innovated, problem solved and utilised technology to keep our sites open.

We are continuously monitoring the situation to maintain the stability of our supply chains and our customers’ needs.
