We carried out a conversion / refurbishment project with Home Republic and have been extremely impressed. Our works consisted of the conversion of 3 flats into a single 5 bedroom home, including a rear extension and complete refurbishment. They entirely stripped the property, carried out structural works and fine interior finishes. Home Republic completed a wrap-around extension and full home «back to brick» renovation for me. All I can say is that from the seemingly unending number of decisions needed to be made during the design/build process, the best one by far was to partner with Home Republic to do it. Right from the outset with a detailed and transparent quote, to the regular communication and check-ins (shout out to Alex and Igor), and of course the work itself which was done to an exceptionally high standard (looking at you Vitali). In the rare case that there was something I thought needed to be re-done, could use a lick of paint or even had a squeak to it — the team took it upon themselves to make sure I was happy. This was a big job — renovating a victorian house -absolutely everything needed overhauling. There were major structural changes and at one point the house was almost a shell. Now we are living in a beautiful home that is the envy of our friends. When I met Alex from Home Republic the thing I liked most about him and his team was their calm demeanour and attitude that anything was possible. Financially, everything was set out very clearly and I always knew what the cost was; any extra additions had to be approved, and these were also clearly costed. If there was something I did not agree with or felt could be improved upon, I felt able to bring it up comfortably and there was always room for discussion.

Alex and his team helped us reconfigure the downstairs of our Victorian semi, creating an open-plan kitchen/diner/play area, adding a new utility and downstairs toilet, installing new flooring and underfloor heating throughout the downstairs and building an entirely new stepped patio outside. They also replastered and redecorated our lathe and plaster stairwell. If lockdown hadn’t happened in the middle of the work, they would have finished ahead of schedule. They were thorough, fastidious and carried out the work to a high standard.
