Our Remit
Home Republic was tasked with the complete redevelopment of a grand 6-bedroomVictorian house in East Putney. The client’s brief was to extend the property at alllevels, creating light-filled, functional spaces for modern family living whilepreserving the home’s historical charm. In addition to renovating the main house, wewere also asked to design a separate outbuilding in the newly landscaped garden toserve as an independent space for children. Our focus was on blendingcontemporary living solutions with the property’s traditional aesthetic, ensuring bothsustainability and elegance.
What We Did
To achieve this transformation, we added numerous skylights to the roof, floodingthe bedrooms, hallways, and bathrooms with natural light. Custom hand-craftedvanity units and bespoke wardrobes were installed, offering ample storage with openhanging spaces and push-to-open drawers. The ground floor became a centralfamily hub, featuring a full-width kitchen with oak timber floors and custom spray-painted cabinetry. A permeable stone patio was created to preserve the property’siconic magnolia tree, while the playroom was enhanced with a curved-glassstructural roof, allowing light to pour in. The outbuilding in the landscaped gardenprovided a separate space for children, complete with an ensuite and a green rooffor eco-friendly living.
