The Project

Magnus and Oscar wished to breathe new space into their house, and as a result, decided to renovate it from scratch. The new space would offer a cosy bedroom and a complementary bathroom, a rear terrace and a loft area which was previously unused.

As well as making Magnus and Oscar’s wish to refurbish their mid terrace grade II listed house come true, another face of the project was to create a space that complemented the character of the house.

Magnus Say:

‘They have an impressive record in working with listed properties. We were impressed of how confidently they blent new features in the Georgian interior. Just look at the pictures, the result is amazing.

Home Republic made it stress-free for us coordinating specialist contractors for sound systems, renovating fireplaces, integrating underfloor heating and overall finding the best people for jobs’

Our Approach

With a focus on intelligent design, Home Republic’s team worked closely with Lakewater Studio architects, structural engineers and designers to execute Magnus and Oscar’s vision. The priorities were maximising every inch of available space, as well as ensuring that the new development would suit their needs. Aesthetic considerations were made in order to create a space that would suit the style of their home.

The process then involved stripping the house bare, insulating it throughout, installing underfloor heating systems, reroofing, adding extra bedroom by installing steel beams’ structure, building 3 luxurious bathrooms and adding the rear terrace above existing extension. The project manager Alex oversaw the development, keeping Magnus and Oscar informed throughout the process.

The Result

A stunning full refurbishment of Magnus and Oscar’s mid-terrace house created an exquisite loft are that includes sophisticated master bedroom and complementary ensuite bathroom. Magnus is extremely pleased that the project added over 360 square feet of extra space to their property, and that our team helped them add thousands to the value of their home.

The cosy master bedroom embodies sophistication in every detail and features two large Velux windows with rain sensors which allow natural light to pour into the space as well as built-in wardrobe with TV space.

The works maximised every inch of available space by turning old kitchen in extra bedroom, creating spacious open plan dining and living area with custom-made storage and masterpiece kitchen. Separate utility room contains electrical services and boiler system, while top of the roof terrace creates a beautiful dining space.

Oscar Reveals:
